What are conjuctions?
Conjunction is a word or group of words which combine two or more than two words, phrases, clauses and the sentences. For example
A wise and beautiful girl.
The principal and as well as the secretary of the school
Anuj sings but his brother plays guitar.
In these sentences and, as well as, but are the conjunctions as they join two adjectives, two nouns and two verbs.
Some important conjunctions and their usage
In the different competitive exams, the questions are asked on the basis of some important conjunctions and in order to have a hands on experience on these conjunctions, one should use them practically.
Co-relative Conjunctions

Either or YA TO YE, YA TO VO

Neither nor NA TO YE, NA TO VO
These conjunctions can join two subjects, two objects or the two verbs.

Sonu will not only teach but also motivate the students.
In the same manner either or, neither nor are also used.

Either Ram or Lakshman has inspired them.

Note-

remember the pair either or and neither nor. Nothing else should be added except or with either and nor with neither.

Placing of ‘not only but also’ matters.
Not only he explains the topic but also makes us write.
Here two verbs are to be added so ‘not only’ should be used before the verb only. If two subjects are to be added then ‘not only’ is used before those two subjects. In the same manner if objects are to be added, ‘not only’ should be used before them only. So here the right sentence is
He not only explains the topic but also makes us write.

He is going to not only commence a beginner’s course but also an advance course.
He is going to commence not only a beginner’s course but also an advance course.

Although and though are followed by yet or a comma but in the problems some other words like but, or, else, and.

‘Both and’ is right pair not ‘both as well as/ or/ else’
Both Sonu as well as Aditya may ask you this today. [and in place of as well as]

Whether is followed by or but in problems some other words are used. The right pair is whether..or. mostly if or that is used in place of whether.
I don’t know that he will come or not. [whether in place of that]
I am not sure whether Abhishek will organize the party nor his brother. [or in place of nor]
I am not updated if Zoya will give a presentation or Reeeta. [use whether in place of if]
I am doubtful whether she will learn grammar or vocabulary.

So …as is used with the negative sentences whereas as..as is used with positive as well as with the negative sentences.
This movie is not so interesting as the previous one.
Your sister is not so kind as you.
Monika is as beautiful as his sister.
As is always correct, whether the sentence is positive or negative. For example
His speech was as mesmerizing as my father’s. [mesmerizing- MANMOHAK]
His handwriting is not as attractive as mine.
